It's really interesting that you chose to use basic shapes in your sketches. I haven't seen anyone else do that yet. I think you accomplished it well though since they still have a line of movement and don't seem very stiff though :)
Something I noticed, that I also did on my sketches though, is that there are no faces on the people so you can't tell sometimes which direction they're looking or which direction they're facing. Patrick suggested that I make an indication of it to make things clearer, maybe that's something to try out?
I love that there are objects and indication of settings in these. I know that it's something I have a problem with... I tend to have people floating in space when I sketch, so it's cool to see some backgrounds! :)
Nina, Good work. Continue to look at your groups as compositions - there are some nice ones here. Go beyond blocking out proportions and start to describe individuality in the gestures. Also continue to integrate furniture and more of the figure's surroundings.
You've got the body proportions down nicely, but there's something a little stiff about them, though I'm not sure what. Maybe put down some lines through the whole body before drawing the shapes, or exaggerate the motion a little.
These are neat, I also like the geometric shape approach. But perhaps darken some of the outside lines to make the whole form dominant over the individual shapes, because if the segments stand out, your figures start to look like the tin man.
