Nina, I like how you're incorporating furniture and interactive objects (laptops, books).
I would like you to force yourself - in a situation like this - to draw more active subjects. If you can only get a glimpse of them and take a mental picture, do it - then make a gesture - even if it is loose and rough and takes 15-30 seconds. Then, gradually work into drawing more sedentary poses.
Lastly - avoid blocking in areas with value to indicate color or value. Use shading for light patterns.
